When it comes to racing, CJ Faison surely knows what it takes to be the best and this past Friday night was a sure reminder to him of his hard work. CJ started in the 6th position in the heat race and quickly moved up through the field of cars to 2nd place. While battling for the lead, Faison's Left Rear drive plate sheared off of the car from the amount of pressure CJ put it under while racing. That incident ended CJ's heat race pre-maturely but the night was not over yet.
The Ellis Motorsports crew worked hard, fast and furious to get the #45 repaired for the A-main. Faison rolled off into the A-main in the 17th position and never looked back as the green flag dropped. He quickly worked his way up to 10th place before another racecar made contact with him sending CJ over the banking of the racetrack. The incident caused CJ to fall back to 13th place but CJ never gave up and drove back up to 7th place where he finished the race. Cj's car was surely one of the most competitive cars out on the track, just needed more laps to make his way to 1st place.
"It's unfortunate that we had such bad luck in the heat race because I know we had a car that was capable of winning. On a positive note, we know that we had a fast car and I did everything I could do to salvage a good finish for us. I just have to thank my crew for their dedication and hard work. We will be back soon."-CJ Faison
