As excepted, CJ Faison once again takes the high banks of Bristol by storm. CJ set the fastest time in the first round of NASCAR K&N East Series practice. Everyone's eyes were on Faison all day long, as so was NASCAR legend Morgan Shepard's eyes. As the strong performance continued throughout the day, Faison tried a new line for qualifying but ended up falling back to 17th place to start the race.
Starting 17th place, CJ quickly moved up through the field of 36 cars. CJ took the field
by storm and ended the race in 5th place. A strong and determined effort by the 19 year old, makes him one of the top NASCAR Sprint Cup prospects of 2013.
